Banquet Manager

Job Summary:
The Banquet Manager is primarily responsible for planning event details with the sales director and group sales clients, posting event charges on the day of event, supervising the banquet staff and coordinating all food and beverage services within the banquet department. This team player also trains the banquet team and oversees the enforcement of hotel standards on setting up the banquet facilities, up keeping banquet facilities and inventory, service, breakout sessions, cleaning of banquet spaces, and banquet staff appearance.
The Banquet Manager role requires an individual who will maintain and develop the highest level of guest satisfaction for all banquets and meetings, with an attention to service. The individual will manage all meeting and event related guest requests, complaints and queries and ensure that all aspects are communicated to the respective departments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the event host and sales director on all aspects of banquet functions.
- Perform all planning functions for the banqueting department such as, but not limited to, determining schedule, set up, and menus.
- Create and distribute BEOs at least two weeks prior to the start of the event.
- Inspect all banquet rooms, service, and FOH kitchen areas for cleanliness and make sure sufficient supplies and equipment are available for the function.
- Oversee and actively assist in all aspects of banquet function activities from start to finish.
- Ensure events are properly set and ready for execution at the appointed time.
- Respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
- Adhere to all banquet standard processes and also hotel standard policies and procedures.
- Interview, hire, supervise, train, and schedule banquet and event staff members.
- Coordinate function details with banquet and kitchen staff.
- Conduct pre-shift and pre-function meetings.
- Actively participate in the set up of banquet rooms and service of food and beverage to guests.
- Communicate frequently with the group leader in order to ensure that their needs are being met.
- Display awareness and compliance with hotels security, safety, emergency and energy procedures.
- Post all banquet billing charges on the day of the event.
- Maintain and reconcile an inventory of all alcoholic beverages.
- Maintain and keep an inventory of all banquet equipment including AV, linens, tables, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Degree in hospitality or similar preferred.
- A minimum of two years' experience as a banquet manager or similar.
